Accessibility Statement

Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including persons with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of the Management Information System (MIS) in accordance with recognized standards and best practices.

Our Commitment

We strive to ensure that mis.wwf.gov.pk is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. Accessibility is considered an integral part of system design, development, and ongoing maintenance. Our goal is to provide an inclusive digital experience that enables all users, including those with disabilities, to access information and services effectively.

This commitment aligns with the Government of Pakistan's vision for inclusive digital services and our responsibility to serve all workers and stakeholders equitably.

Accessibility Standards

The MIS aims to conform, where reasonably possible, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), help make web content more accessible to people with:

  • Visual impairments: Blindness, low vision, color blindness
  • Hearing impairments: Deafness or hard of hearing
  • Motor impairments: Limited dexterity or mobility
  • Cognitive impairments: Learning disabilities, memory limitations

We are committed to meeting or exceeding these standards where technically feasible, while recognizing that some areas may require ongoing improvement.

Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features have been implemented or are being enhanced:

  • Semantic HTML Structure: Proper use of HTML5 semantic elements (headers, nav, main, footer) for assistive technologies
  • Keyboard Navigation: Core public pages and essential functions are accessible via keyboard without requiring mouse interaction
  • Text Alternatives: Images and non-text content include descriptive alt text where applicable
  • Readable Text: Sufficient color contrast ratios and scalable fonts that can be enlarged without loss of functionality
  • Clear Navigation: Consistent page structure, clear headings, and logical content organization
  • Form Accessibility: Forms include associated labels, clear instructions, and error messages
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
  • Responsive Design: Content adapts to different screen sizes and devices

Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts are available for improved navigation:

  • Tab: Navigate forward through interactive elements
  • Shift + Tab: Navigate backward through interactive elements
  • Enter/Space: Activate buttons and links
  • Escape: Close modals and dropdowns
  • Arrow Keys: Navigate within menus and lists

Screen Reader Compatibility

The public pages of the MIS are designed to be compatible with common screen readers including:

  • NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access)
  • JAWS (Job Access With Speech)
  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • TalkBack (Android)

We test our public pages with screen readers to ensure compatibility and usability.

Limitations and Exceptions

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the MIS may not be fully accessible due to:

  • Technical Constraints: Legacy system components or third-party integrations that may have accessibility limitations
  • Secure Services: Some authenticated areas may have additional security measures that affect accessibility
  • Complex Data Tables: Some administrative interfaces with complex data tables may be challenging for screen readers
  • Third-Party Components: External libraries or services that we integrate may have their own accessibility limitations

We are actively working to identify and address such limitations as part of ongoing system improvements. Known issues are documented and prioritized for remediation.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly:

  • Conduct accessibility audits and testing
  • Review and update content for accessibility compliance
  • Train staff on accessibility best practices
  • Monitor user feedback and address accessibility concerns
  • Stay informed about new accessibility standards and technologies

Our development process includes accessibility considerations from the initial design phase through implementation and testing.
